The Tedee lock works great over Bluetooth. Lock, unlock, all from the user's phone. But what happens when the end user isn't near the door?
A guest shows up early to an Airbnb. A family member needs to get in while the homeowner is across town. Without an internet connection, the lock has no way of knowing.
That's where the Tedee Bridge comes in. The Bridge connects the lock to the home or property's WiFi network, takes the lock's Bluetooth signal, and carries it online. That's how the lock goes from working only near the door to working from anywhere.

Here's what you can offer your customer once it's installed:
- Remote control. The user no longer depends on Bluetooth range. They can unlock the door for a guest even if they're miles away.
- Push notifications. Every unlock reaches the phone in real time. The user knows who came in and when, without having to ask.
- Compatibility with 15+ smart home systems. Alexa and Google Assistant can check or control the lock by voice.
- Tedee Portal. One dashboard to manage unlimited amount of locks and users from a browser, ideal for buildings or businesses with more than one door.
- Automatic hosting and self check-in. For your customer managing Airbnb-style properties, the guest gets access active only for the length of their stay, with no key hand-off or someone waiting at the door.
- Certified security. The Bridge holds security certification from the independent institute AV-Test.
A common situation for Tedee installers is a hallway with several Tedee locks installed close together. There's no need to sell a Bridge per door - one Bridge connects up to 10 Tedee devices within its Bluetooth range.
For installation, place the Bridge no more than 6 feet (2 meters) from the lock and within range of the local WiFi. Power it directly from an outlet with the matching adapter, or with a micro USB cable from the router.
And if the internet goes down? The lock still works over Bluetooth, just without the remote features for the user.
If you have a multi-door project, a customer managing Airbnb-style properties, or an end user asking about remote control, get in touch and we'll walk through it together.
