For all those cases, there's the Tedee Keypad Pro. It's a smart keypad with a fingerprint sensor that connects via Bluetooth to Tedee smart locks.
It unlocks the smart lock with a code or a fingerprint, no keys, phone, or app needed, and it's available in black or white.
Features
- Up to 100 PINs and 100 fingerprints: Each one with permissions configurable from the Tedee app and the Tedee Portal. Your customer can give access to an employee, a guest, or a supplier without handing over a physical key, and without that person depending on their own phone.
- Manual locking from the keypad: The end user can lock the door by pressing a button, with or without a PIN. Useful for someone leaving with their hands full, or who'd rather not pull out their phone.
- Self-serviced check-in for short-term rentals: With Airbnb, the integration is direct and free, no third-party platform subscription needed. If you manage several properties or list on other platforms like Booking.com or VRBO, the Keypad Pro also connects through a compatible channel management platform, such as Hostify, Guesty, or Smoobu. In both cases, the PIN is generated and shared with the guest automatically before arrival and deactivates on its own once the stay ends. The host doesn't need to be present to provide access.
- Weather-resistant: Built for installation on the outside of the door, while the lock stays protected inside.
- Protected data: The Keypad Pro doesn't store PINs locally, and fingerprints are tokenized, meaning they're converted into data that can't be extracted or reused. If the device is stolen, it can't be added to another account or used with a different lock until the administrator removes it from the app.
Installation
The Keypad Pro runs on 4 AAA batteries, lasting 12 to 14 months, or on a wired 5-24V DC input. It installs with a pre-applied adhesive pad, or with included screws, depending on what your customer prefers.
It connects to the Tedee Pro smart lock over Bluetooth, with a range of up to 32.8 ft (10m), though it's best installed as close to the door as possible for optimal performance. The Tedee Bridge isn't required for the Keypad Pro to work but pairing it with the Wi-Fi-connected bridge enables automatic firmware updates.
Each Keypad Pro pairs with only one lock at a time.
